Description

Autonomie is a plug-and-play powertrain and vehicle model architecture and development environment that supports the rapid evaluation of new powertrain and propulsion technologies for improving fuel economy through virtual design and analysis in a math-based simulation environment. Generic processes have been developed for all the steps of the virtual engineering process from MIL to SIL, HIL, RCP, and Component-in-the-Loop (CIL). Autonomie is applied by OEMs for different applications from low-level control development (e.g., engine ECU) to full vehicle-level analysis (e.g., fuel economy).

Autonomie is designed for plug-and-play operation—rapid and easy integration of models—with varying levels of detail (low to high fidelity) and abstraction (from subsystems to systems and entire architectures) as well as processes (e.g., calibration, validation). All features are configurable and nonrestrictive to support plug-and-play integration of custom or proprietary models, architectures, and processes for the end user and to support future technology.

The models developed in Autonomie are developed using Simulink® and Stateflow® from MathWorks. The algorithm used to automatically build the entire models based on the user's selections from the graphical user interface is based on MATLAB®.
