Written for undergraduate students, this book presents the fundamental theory of Fourier analysis and wavelets. The book is designed to fill the gap between texts that require too much mathematical background and texts that contain too little mathematical theory. Topics covered include discrete Fourier analysis, Haar wavelet analysis, multiresolution analysis, and Daubechies wavelets.
The MATLAB programs used to generate the figures and illustrate concepts are contained in an appendix. Wavelet Toolbox is also used briefly for compression and filtering.
